Our choir is lead by LeVarr Betts, and under his experienced directing they have gone forth to win numerous awards at festivals, events, and concerts. We accept students into the choir program from 5th to 12th grade. Be prepared to practice twice a week and sing at school events, other churches, or even music festivals.
Mr. Betts also offers Piano lessons once a week during or after school hours as well. We have a Chapel Band, which is comprised of students who want to lead worship in Friday morning chapel services. The band consists of anything from guitar, drums, to bass and vocals.
Art classes are offered on Fridays as an elective for all ages. We also have a Yearbook class every Friday, in which students learn more print and graphics design oriented techniques.
Our dance program is lead by our secretary, Mrs. Kelly Harden. After it’s creation, the dance program has been involved in almost all of our school concerts and events, and even have gone out to perform for senior homes, and special education schools. In the dance program students are brought closer together through rigorous training and performances.
In the past few years our school has been heavily involved in the media arts. Students have created slideshows for graduations, videos for chapel, and have even gone out to win several video competitions. We’ve won 1st place, two years in a row, for the Maryland State Bar Association’s Video Contests. Students also won 3rd place for WBAL’s 3D video contest, which you can view their entry here.
